Laura & Heath | By the water

Laura had no idea Heath was planning to propose the day he did. He sent a driver to pick her up, she then got her nails done & was dropped off at a fancy hotel - where she was to meet her husband-to-be! When she opened the hotel door and saw the flower petals, champagne and Heath she burst out screaming, and jumped up and down with excitement!

Heath adores Laura - you can tell by the way he looks at her, the way he holds her hand & the way he speaks to her - he is a true gentleman. And Laura - she deserves every little bit, she is a beautiful person.

The two chose the Waterfront Restaurant, Melbourne, to have their ceremony & reception. It was the perfect setting for them - they both love the water. We actually began our day a little differently to most pre ceremony activities. We joined the boys on their boat and took pictures of them wakeboarding - lots of fun! We then met up with the girls at Sebel Hotel. Laura was calm, content and looking more happier & gorgeous than ever.

The ceremony was filled with warm muggy air and lots of laughter and a few happy tears. Before we knew it, the two were married & we set off for photos. We jumped into a stretched limousine & went to the St. Kilda gardens & beach - the weather was absolutely perfect!

Laura, Heath and their friends were a lot of fun, they were all so relaxed. We then joined them all at their reception which was divine. A stunning spot, with glorious food & ice cold drinks!

Now, let's start from the beginning...

home cooked meal

There's nothing like a home cooked meal, especially if it's made by your mum! I was lucky enough to spend some sweet time with my mum today. While I sat back with my cup of tea, mum happily baked away in the kitchen - it's one strong passion we both share. We often share recipes & she's passed on a few of her favourites down to me. And just today, I passed on the favour.... I shared my bread & butter pudding recipe with her.

Cooking is something I really enjoy. It's because I love food, and I love how food brings people together. I love eating new things, experimenting with new recipes & having dinner parties! I always think, if I wasn't a photographer, I'd like to maybe own my cafe & serve up freshly made salads, sweet cakes & scrumptious slices. Yum!

Well, today I was fortunate enough to stick around long enough to sample my mums version of my bread & butter pudding... It was de-lish! Do you have any favourite recipes you might like to share with me? christina@chrisppictures.com.au

I'm just not ready...

Today I was cold and, it's summer... I'm not too happy about that because I love summer. I love being warm, I love soaking up the rays from the sun & I love spending time outside. But today it rained, it was chilly and it wasn't just me who felt the change in temperature.

I decided to go for a walk, to get my blood moving and to get warm. The air outside was cold like winter and it even smelt like winter. My freezing red nose caught the scent from a woodfire... The cool, fresh breeze whisked it past me & I looked up and could see the smoke. I thought to myself I'm not going insane - it's nice to know I'm not the only cold one around here.

I even made soup for dinner & drank hot cups of tea all day. I'm not ready for winter yet. I still want to go swimming at the beach, eat zooper doopers & wear thongs. I'm just not ready.

So, to end my day I'm turning to something to cheer me up - another hot cup of tea and a few pieces of my favourite chocolate. I see the weather man says it's going to get warmer this week - well I hope so! I don't want to get out my ugg boots....

Courtney & Stu's wedding was held at Trenavin Park Chapel on Phillip Island. It was the most magnificent setting... A very gorgeous bride, a very relaxed groom & the perfect backdrop - what more could you ask for? More details and photos from the day to come soon.....
